The seeds of his talents had been sown early within the blues wealthy delta of Mississippi where he was raised. Life was in no way straightforward for him as a younger man. He was continuosly shuttled back and forth between his mom’s and grandmother’s homes where he spent many lengthy hours working onerous as a sharecropper and simply as many hours praising the lord in church, as he belted out gospel songs and honed the skills that would later be enjoyed by hundreds of thousands worldwide.
