Another one of France’s beautiful Mediterranean cities, Montpieller is a world class travel destination that will keep you occupied. Located several kilometers inland, the city offers easy rental car access to many incredible unique beaches. It’s also France’s fastest growing city over the past 25 years, which means there’s lots to do! Visit many of the old buildings, like the Saint Pierre Cathedral or the Porte do Peyrou, a triumphal arch. Check out the oldest botanical garden in France, built in 1593, or make your way over to the Muse Fabre, which had a 60 million Euro renovation that was completed in 2007. There’s so much to do and see you will want to extend your stay.
Once you’ve had your fill of local food, museums, and beaches, make your way down the seaside resort town of Palavas les Flots. Originally a fisherman’s village, it is now one of the most beautiful places to visit in the region. After that, make your way to the Cevennes National Park, located north of Montpieller. It will provide you with breathtaking mountain views, opportunities to explore caves, and access to a beautiful arboretum. The whole area is filled with places to explore that are easily accessible.
